What is StampIt?

StampIt is a free online tool to add a watermark to a PDF in your web browser. Type your words, or pick DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, COPY, PAID or SAMPLE, and StampIt places them on every page. Choose the size, colour, how see-through it is and where it sits, then preview and download.

Put the text watermark diagonally across the page, in the centre, at the top or at the bottom. The stamp is added on top of each page, and the rest of the PDF is left as it was, so text underneath stays selectable.

Your PDF never leaves your computer. It is stamped by your browser, and the watermarked file stays on your device until you download it. ToolClik never adds a watermark of its own.

    Type up to 60 characters, or tap a ready-made stamp: DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, COPY, PAID or SAMPLE.

  • Four positions

    Diagonal, centre, top or bottom. The diagonal stamp follows the angle of each page.

  • Size, colour and transparency

    Set the text from 18 to 140 points, pick any colour, and make it between 5% and 80% solid.

  • Every page at once

    StampIt adds the same watermark to every page of the PDF in one go, then shows you a preview.

  • Private and no extra branding

Questions about Watermark PDF

Is it free to watermark a PDF?

Yes. Text watermarks are free on PDFs up to 50 MB, with no page limit. You save the stamped PDF with a free ToolClik account. Pro, at $1.29 a month, takes files up to 2 GB.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. StampIt adds the watermark inside your browser on your own device. ToolClik never receives or stores your file.

Will ToolClik add its own watermark too?

No. The only watermark on your PDF is the one you type. ToolClik never adds a logo or stamp of its own.

Can I use an image or logo as the watermark?

Not yet. StampIt adds text watermarks for now; image and logo watermarks are planned for Pro.

Which characters can I use?

Latin letters, numbers and common symbols. The built-in PDF font can't draw other scripts, such as Arabic, Chinese or Cyrillic, yet.

Can I add a watermark on my phone?

Yes. StampIt works in mobile browsers on iPhone and Android as well as on a computer.
