What is PDFify?

PDFify is a free online Word to PDF converter that works in your web browser. Drop in a .docx file, pick A4 or US Letter and your margins, and get a tidy PDF you can preview before you save it. There is nothing to install, and no watermark is ever added.

It is not only for Word. PDFify also turns plain text (.txt), Markdown (.md) and web pages (.html) into PDFs. Headings, lists, tables, bold and italic text and pictures are kept, and pages break between lines and blocks, not through the middle of them.

Your document never leaves your computer. It is read and laid out by your browser, and the PDF stays on your device until you download it, which makes PDFify safe for CVs, contracts and other private files.

What you can do

  • DOCX, TXT, Markdown and HTML

One converter for the documents you have: Word .docx files, plain text, Markdown notes and saved web pages.

  • A4 or US Letter, three margins

Choose the page size and Normal, Narrow or no margins. Change your mind and convert again in a second.

  • Clean page breaks

PDFify looks for the end of a line, paragraph or table row before it starts a new page, so text isn't sliced in half.

  • Preview before you save

See the finished PDF on the page with its page count and file size, then download it.

  • Private and watermark-free

The conversion runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the PDF carries no logo or stamp.

Questions about Doc to PDF

Is this Word to PDF converter free?

Yes. You can convert files up to 50 MB for free, and the PDF never has a watermark. You save the PDF with a free ToolClik account. Pro, at $1.29 a month, takes files up to 2 GB.

Are my documents uploaded to a server?

No. PDFify reads and converts your file inside your browser. ToolClik never receives or stores your document.

Can I convert an old .doc file?

Not directly. PDFify reads .docx files. Open the .doc in Word or another word processor, save it as .docx, then convert that.

Will the PDF look exactly like my Word document?

Close, but not always identical. PDFify keeps headings, lists, tables, bold and italic text and pictures, but lays them out with its own clean font and spacing, and leaves out Word headers, footers and page settings.

Can I select and copy the text in the PDF?

For plain text files in Latin letters, yes: they become real PDF text. Word, Markdown and HTML files are drawn as sharp images of each page, so their text can't be selected or searched.

What page sizes can I choose?

A4 or US Letter, with Normal, Narrow or no margins. Pages are always portrait.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. PDFify runs in mobile browsers on iPhone and Android as well as on a computer. Long documents convert faster on a computer.
