What is JSONeat?
JSONeat is a free online JSON formatter and validator. Paste JSON from an API response, a log file or a config, and it is pretty-printed straight away with clean indentation. If the JSON is broken, JSONeat tells you, and points to the line and column where it went wrong.
Choose 2 spaces, 4 spaces or tabs, or minify the JSON into one compact line to send or store. You can also sort every key from A to Z, nested objects included, which makes two JSON files much easier to compare.
Formatting happens in your browser and your data is never uploaded, so it is safe to paste private API responses. Copy the result to your clipboard, or save it as a .json file with a free ToolClik account.
What you can do
Pretty-print JSON
Turn a wall of JSON into readable, indented text with 2 spaces, 4 spaces or tabs.
Validate as you paste
JSONeat checks your JSON straight away and shows the line and column of the first error, so you can fix it fast.
Minify to one line
Strip every space and line break to make the smallest valid JSON for requests, storage or config values.
Sort keys A to Z
Put the keys of every object, nested ones included, in alphabetical order. Arrays keep their order.
Private by design
Your JSON is parsed in your browser and never sent to a server, which matters for tokens and customer data.

Questions about JSON Formatter
How do I format JSON online?
Paste your JSON into JSONeat and it is formatted at once. Choose 2 spaces, 4 spaces or tabs, then copy the result.
Why does it say my JSON is invalid?
JSON is strict. Common problems are a trailing comma, single quotes instead of double quotes, keys without quotes, or comments, none of which JSON allows. JSONeat shows the line and column to check.
Can I minify JSON with this tool?
Yes. Choose Minify and JSONeat removes all spaces and line breaks while keeping the data the same.
Does sorting keys change my data?
No. Only the order of keys inside objects changes, and that order has no meaning in JSON. The items in arrays stay in their original order.
Is my JSON uploaded anywhere?
No. JSONeat formats and checks your JSON in your browser, and nothing is sent to ToolClik.
Do I need an account?
Not to format, validate or copy JSON. Downloading the result as a .json file needs a free ToolClik account.
