What is BeatRip?
BeatRip is a free MP4 to MP3 converter that runs in your web browser. Drop in a video, choose MP3 or WAV, and download just the sound. It works with MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and M4V files, so you can extract the audio from a phone clip, a screen recording or a saved lecture.
You choose the quality. Pick 96, 128 or 192 kbps MP3 on Free, 320 kbps with Pro, or save a lossless WAV. Two sliders trim the start and end while you convert, so you keep only the song, speech or sound you want, with no separate audio editor.
The video is read by your own browser and never uploaded to a server. That keeps private clips private and saves the wait of sending a big file over the internet. You can try it without an account; saving the MP3 needs a free ToolClik account.
What you can do
Extract audio from any video
Works with MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and M4V. BeatRip shows the length of the soundtrack and whether it is stereo or mono before you convert.
MP3 or lossless WAV
Save a small MP3 at 96, 128 or 192 kbps (320 kbps on Pro), or a WAV file that keeps every detail for editing.
Trim while you convert
Move the Start and End sliders to keep only the part you need, in steps of a tenth of a second.
Listen before you save
Play the finished audio on the page and check its length and file size, then download it.
No upload, no watermark
The conversion happens on your device, and the audio comes out exactly as it was, with nothing added.

Questions about MP4 to MP3
Is this MP4 to MP3 converter free?
Yes. Converting is free and there is no watermark. Free handles videos up to 50 MB and MP3s up to 192 kbps; you save the file with a free ToolClik account. Pro, at $1.29 a month, takes videos up to 2 GB and adds 320 kbps MP3.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. BeatRip reads the video in your browser on your own device. Neither the video nor the audio is ever sent to ToolClik.
Which video formats can I convert to MP3?
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and M4V. The video needs a sound track your browser can read; MP4 files with AAC audio work best. If a file won't open, try it in another browser such as Chrome.
Which MP3 quality should I choose?
128 kbps is fine for speech and podcasts, and 192 kbps suits most music. 320 kbps, on Pro, is the highest MP3 quality. WAV keeps everything but makes a much bigger file.
Can I convert just part of a video?
Yes. Set the Start and End sliders before you press Convert, and only that part is saved.
Can I convert MP4 to MP3 on my phone?
Yes. BeatRip runs in phone browsers such as Chrome and Safari. Long videos need more memory, so a computer is quicker for very big files.
